Website Overhaul?

If your website no longer draws the amount of attention and traffic that it once experienced, it’s probably time for you to consider overhauling your website’s design.  Websites that were once useful and functional can quickly become outdated and there are always new technologies that can be implemented into your website to make it more attractive to customers, and ways of adding content that can draw in more traffic.  Simply put, just like the mullet hairstyle that was once popular, your once attractive website may now be seen as behind the times, outmoded, or obsolete.

Trends in websites change rapidly. Just a few years ago, 3D buttons were all the rage.  Not so now.  The Web is constantly maturing and web designers have a more enhanced understanding of what their visitors are looking for than ever before. Flash intro pages were once quite popular, but now web design specialists know that users want to cut through the chase (and the wait) and get straight to the content on the site.  Like 80’s “big” hair, flash intros are now best left to Internet history – and having one on your website is pointless and unfeasible.

Overhauling your website design can also keep you ahead of your competition.  People want to be able to find what they need online with a simple search, and overhauling your website to enhance your SEO is always a great idea.  When overhauling your website design you should always look at your competitor’s successful websites to get an idea of what is making them successful while you are lagging behind.  Properly constructed SEO content will draw more hits to your site, while fresh content added in a timely manner will keep your visitors coming back for more.  No one wants to visit a website that has stale content that they have already looked at or read before.

It is important to review your website design from time to time to make sure that it still accurately reflects the image that you want your potential customers and clients to see.  If your site is professional and filled with helpful content, you project an image of professionalism. If your site is outdated and full of useless or out of date content, visitors who happen by your site will think that your company is outdated as well.
